Introducing our 2026 Hunger for More Lenten Calendar

Each year, as Lent approaches, I find myself asking the same question: How can this season shape us into people who love our neighbors more boldly?

Lent is often described as a time of reflection and sacrifice, but at Isaiah 58 Ministries we also see it as a time of movement—a season that invites us to grow, to act, and to become more deeply connected to one another.

That is why, since 2016, we have created our Hunger for More Lenten Calendar.

Our calendar is not about perfection or pressure. It is a daily invitation to take small, meaningful steps toward compassion, justice, and beloved community. Each day offers a simple action—something you can do right where you are—to help turn reflection into real-life impact.

A Lent for This Moment

This year’s calendar was created with the world we are living in right now in mind. We feel like we are surrounded by division, uncertainty, and deep need. Yet we also see incredible generosity, courage, and hope in our community every single day.

Our prayer is that this year’s Lent will help us move from division toward unity—in our hearts, our neighborhoods, and our world.

Each week of the calendar focuses on a word that can guide our journey:

  • Week 1: Passion – What stirs your heart and calls you to care?
  • Week 2: Knowledge – How can learning open our eyes and deepen empathy?
  • Week 3: Clarity – Where is God (and our shared humanity) inviting us to focus?
  • Week 4: Purpose – How are we called to serve and show up?
  • Week 5: Empathy – How do we listen, love, and walk alongside others?
  • Week 6: Hope – How do we carry light into the world?

Each daily action is simple, practical, and rooted in the belief that small acts of love add up to lasting change.

Why Do We Do This?

At Isaiah 58 Ministries, we witness daily what happens when people choose compassion in their action. We see neighbors feeding neighbors, volunteers building friendships, and communities choosing generosity over fear.

This is one more way to extend that spirit beyond our walls and into everyday life.

You do not have to complete every activity or do it perfectly. Simply join us in the journey. Choose a few days. Invite your family. Share it with your church or small group. Let this season shape you in ways big and small.

Because when many people take small steps together, something beautiful happens.
