A New Chapter Begins for Isaiah 58 Ministries

On the morning of February 24, 2026, surrounded by community partners, supporters, and friends, Isaiah 58 Ministries officially broke ground on what will become our new home—marking a significant milestone in our journey to better serve our neighbors.
The ceremony was both a celebration and a sacred moment of gratitude and anticipation. Katherine Swaller, Board Chair of Isaiah 58 Ministries, opened the gathering with words that reflected both the urgency of our mission and the faith that has carried us forward. She reminded those present that this moment is not simply about a building, but about expanding our ability to meet people where they are—with dignity, compassion, and care.
We were honored to welcome Alderwoman Daniela Velazquez (6th Ward), Jennifer Moeschke, Senior Partners and Programs Manager of the St. Louis Area Foodbank, Mark Anderson, President and CEO of the National Benevolent Association, Rev. Julie Jennings, Vice Board Chair of the Council for Health and Human Service Ministries (UCC), and Darrell Hughes, Board Chair of Compton Heights Christian Church, all who shared words of affirmation and support for the project. The ceremony concluded with a blessing from Rev. David Woodard, Associate Regional Minister of the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ), who reminded all those gathered that this work, is at its heart, a response to God’s call to love and serve.
As we look ahead, renovations of the new space, led by Studio DVLP, will transform it into a welcoming, accessible, and multi-use facility designed to meet the growing needs of our community. Plans include expanded pantry operations, dedicated spaces for our clothing room and shower ministry, and new areas for health and wellness programming, education, and community gatherings.
This move comes at a critical time. As demand for our services continues to rise, this new location will allow us to increase our capacity, deepen our partnerships, and more fully live into our calling to be the “heart and hub” of our community.
We are grateful for all who have made this moment possible. We look forward with hope as we continue Answering the Call together.
