One morning recently, as we were cleaning up after a Monday morning food distribution, I was handed two cards by one of our participants. I opened them to discover them filled with signatures from so many of the people who come on Monday mornings for food, along with a poem written by one of the individuals.
It read:
God Bless you Brenda, Meredith,
and your fine, giving volunteers,
your food give-aways here at Isaiah Ministries
always bring smiles and cheers.
We know you’re anointed,
blessed and driven by God’s grace,
for through good times and bad,
you put on a happy face.
Thanks so much for the many,
benevolent things you do,
may we never, ever have to bid you adieu.
Bless your colleague, Meredith,
as she enjoys her vacation,
may she see this card and
react with sheer elation.
Until we meet again here,
may the meats and sweets keep coming.
as free food goes,
this is the best thing running.
This wonderful blessing continues to put smiles on our faces as we do the difficult but rewarding work of serving our community.
