Isaiah 58 Ministries hosted its Annual Back-to-School fair on July 27th at the ministry. The weather cooperated to make it a perfect day for the children in our community.
Children enjoyed playing in the two bouncy houses on site as well as the giant basketball hoop and basketball. There was cotton candy and popcorn available throughout the day and hotdogs and hamburgers served up for lunch.
Parents were invited to visit our many resource tables that provided information about local agencies and opportunities for both them and their children. The agencies in attendance were: Affinia Healthcare, Cornerstone Center for Early Learning, Parents As Teachers, and United 4 Children.
Vision screenings for children were also provided by Delta Gamma Center for Children with Visual Impairments.
Bonhomme Presbyterian Church offering information about healthy nutrition as well as an abundance of balls, jump ropes, hula hoops and other outdoor activity items for the children in attendance.
The day was topped off with a short Blessing of the Backpacks service followed by distribution of the backpacks to children along with a $30 Famous Footwear gift card, a coupon for a free haircut, and socks and underwear.
Over 100 children received backpacks with all the extra goodies at the event!
We will continue to offer backpacks along with the other items throughout the coming days while supplies last.
