On Saturday, December 5, John Burroughs School will kick off their Annual Holiday Food Drive supporting Isaiah 58 Ministries. The Community Collection Day typically involves students, faculty, and staff stationed at area Straub’s locations requesting donations on behalf of Isaiah 58 Ministries. This year, while patrons can still donate at Straub’s locations from 9 am to noon, students, faculty, and staff will not be on-site. Instead, the JBS Student Service Club is hosting a contactless “Food Drive Parade” from 1 pm – 5 pm at the school’s Clayton Road entrance (9243 Clayton Road) to receive community donations.
Isaiah 58 Ministries is a food pantry in South St. Louis City who has worked tirelessly throughout the COVID-19 pandemic to ensure people in need are able to feed their families. As thousands have lost their jobs due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the need for food assistance for families from all walks of life has grown tremendously. Isaiah 58 Ministries is currently distributing a record amount of food each month to people in South St. Louis City in a safe and efficient manner.
To continue to meet the increased demand, John Burroughs School and Isaiah 58 Ministries is calling the St. Louis community to join us for a no-contact, community wide food drive on Saturday, December 5th from 1pm-5pm at the school’s Clayton Road entrance (9243 Clayton Road).
