On Tuesday January 16th Isaiah 58 Ministries hosted a Mid-Winter Celebration for friends of the ministry. Recognizing that January can be a difficult time for people experiencing post-holiday doldrums, Isaiah 58 Ministries planned an Epiphany Party to celebrate the many stars of our ministry. It was an opportunity to celebrate the lasting impact of the generosity, unselfish love and hard work of all those who work tirelessly to improve our community.
Over 50 folks braved the bitter cold to enjoy good food, fellowship and fun at the St. Louis Armory. While possibly bringing up the average age of the typical Armory visitors, our group, who will forever be young at heart, increased the average level of joy as well. The conversation was plentiful, the laughter was joyful, and the celebration of community was evident on everyone’s faces.
Many tried their hand (or foot) at corn hole, foot pool (you’ve got to see it to believe it), ping pong and other games. A few even braved the 60 foot slide and the humongous teeter totter! What fun!!
We hope the fun of the Mid-Year celebration will help us all remember to bring joy, grace and dignity to all God’s children, young and old as we continue to nourish the community.
