Neighbors Helping Neighbors

On a hot Saturday in August, Isaiah 58 volunteers—joined by students and friends from the Shaw neighborhood—cheerfully encouraged shoppers at the Schnucks on The Hill to “Shop Out Hunger.” This special event, a partnership between Schnucks, Operation Food Search, and local food pantries, invites customers to purchase an extra item or two to help fill pantry shelves across St. Louis.
Thanks to the generosity of the Schnucks team and their shoppers, our crew collected more than 1,300 pounds of food—including peanut butter, chili, soup, and a variety of other shelf-stable food. These donations go a long way in helping us keep our Choice Food Pantry stocked for the hundreds of families who rely on Isaiah 58 Ministries each week.

We’re deeply grateful to everyone who participated—those who gave their time, shared from their own grocery budget, and offered words of encouragement throughout the day. A special thank-you to Schnucks management and staff for their ongoing partnership and commitment to addressing food insecurity in our community. Together, we’re proving that when neighbors shop with compassion, everyone is fed.
