Thank you to all who participated in our spring superhero food drive!
On May 17th Isaiah 58 Ministries hosted a drive-thru food drive at various locations throughout the metro area. By the generosity of so many people who braved the rain to visit one of our various drop off sites located around the St. Louis metropolitan area, and the hard work of so many volunteers who collected the food and unloaded the bounty, we were able to collect 11,111 lbs of food! That’s 5 ½ tons of food! Wow! We couldn’t have asked for anything more.
Many thanks to our collection sites: Compton Heights Christian Church/Isaiah 58 Ministries, Eden Theological Seminary, Ladue Chapel Presbyterian Church, Oak Hill Presbyterian Church, St Lucas United Church of Christ, St. Mark Presbyterian Church, and Southminster Presbyterian Church.
This food drive helped restock our shelves and has enabled us to continue to serve our community throughout the pandemic.
Some volunteers and congregations had such a great time during our superhero food drive, they’ve decided to turn it into a monthly event! Perhaps your community is thinking about how they can begin hosting a monthly drive-thru food drive. If so, we would love to talk more about how to continue this momentum and engagement in mission work.
