With Gratitude and Thanksgiving

See, I am doing a new thing!

Now it springs up; do you not perceive it?

I am making a way in the wilderness

and streams in the wasteland. – Isaiah 43:19

Dear Friends and Partners,

“… You shall raise up the foundations of many generations; you shall be called the repairer of the breach, the restorer of streets to live in.”  -Isaiah 58:12

With grateful hearts, we are excited to share an important milestone in the life of Isaiah 58 Ministries and Saint Louis. We have officially purchased a new building located at 4164 Chippewa Street, St. Louis, Missouri 63116 to enable us to expand services and community outreach.

For some time, we have recognized the growing need for additional space as the number of individuals and families in need of food assistance and basic necessities continues to rise at an alarming rate. At the same time, we have seen a shift where many of our guests now live.

The changing demographics of our current location made it clear that, if we were to remain deeply invested in the communities we serve, we would need to think intentionally about our future and how to best serve families and neighbors.

Two years ago, the Isaiah 58 Ministries Board and staff began visioning for what that future could look like — imagining a space that would serve as the “heart and hub” of the community: a welcoming place rooted in dignity, connection, nourishment, and hope.

“Write the vision; make it plain… For there is still a vision for the appointed time.” -Habakkuk 2:2-3

Today, we are filled with gratitude to be able to share with you that this vision is becoming reality.

With God’s grace and the faithful support of so many, we will begin the renovation process in the months ahead, with the goal of transitioning into the new space by November, 2026.

Throughout this transition, our commitment remains steadfast: to continue serving our guests with compassion, consistency, and care just as we have for nearly 60 years.

We are deeply thankful for the prayers, encouragement, generosity, and partnership that have brought us to this moment. Isaiah 58 Ministries’ new community center represents more than bricks and mortar; it is a commitment to being present where the need is greatest and growing alongside the community we serve.

We invite you to join us for a Groundbreaking Celebration and the beginning of new possibilities for St. Louis communities.

Save the Date:

When: Tuesday, February 24th at 10:00 a.m.

Where: At our new location, 4164 Chippewa Street

More details will be shared soon, and we hope you’ll celebrate this meaningful step forward for us all.

We look forward to sharing updates as the work unfolds and invite you to continue walking with us every step of the way.

With gratitude and hope,

Rev. Brenda Booth, Executive Director

Katherine Swaller, Board Chair

P.S. As we move from vision into construction, we are continuing to raise the remaining funds needed to fully renovate and equip the building. If you feel called to help strengthen this next chapter — through prayer, advocacy, or financial support — we are deeply grateful to be on this journey together.
