Education is part of Isaiah 58 Ministries’ service to our community. In 2024, a program was initiated to provide information on topics that matter to our guests. In February, we gathered to generate ideas for topics of common interest. These Lunch and Learn sessions provide a delicious lunch along with useful information and a chance for the guests to share questions and thoughts.
We have had two guest speakers this year. In March, the topic was diabetes with a registered dietitian from SLU Hospital speaking. In April our guests’ questions about renter’s rights were answered by local attorney Jonathan Beck. Up next is the response to the opioid crisis in St Louis which is scheduled for Wednesday, May 15th with the St Louis City Department of Health. There will be demonstrations on Narcan administration and Fentanyl testing. After the May lunch, there will be a break until August.
