at Our 2nd Annual Health Fair

At Isaiah 58 Ministries, our mission goes beyond providing food—we seek to nourish the whole person through community, celebrations, and educational opportunities.
In late January, while New Year’s resolutions were still fresh, we hosted our second annual Health Fair. Over 40 guests attended, enjoying vendor booths, engaging speakers, and a nourishing pasta lunch prepared by Executive Director, Rev. Brenda Booth.

Guests especially appreciated the Operation Food Search cooking demonstration, which taught attendees how to grill Brussels sprouts—and actually enjoy them! The Sports Medicine and Training Center led a session on safe, easy stretches and exercises, encouraging participants to stay active without overexerting themselves.

The event concluded with an inspiring performance by the Saint Louis StoryStitchers, who presented a powerful combination of poetry, storytelling, and music focused on uplifting young people of color and breaking down the stigma surrounding mental health.
Joan James, registered nurse and Isaiah 58 Ministries board member, who co-organized the fair with Rev. Booth, shared, “The event was enjoyed by both the community and the vendors, who truly appreciate opportunities to give back.” She expressed gratitude to all who participated, emphasizing the importance of building lasting community partnerships.
We extend our heartfelt thanks to the vendors who helped make this event a success: Behavioral Health Response, Knight Alzheimer Disease Research Center, NOVUS Health, Operation Food Search, Provident Behavioral Health, St. Louis City Department of Health, SSM Health, Women’s Voices (Lock It for Love), Saint Louis StoryStitchers, and the Sports Medicine and Training Center.
